Final Thoughts and Reflection

To me, this project was kind of like an experiment. I needed to find out what my strengths and weaknesses are and this project help me do so. I found it hard to keep up with my project. I feel as if I had almost abandoned it. I wonder if soccer is my true passion. To be honest, I forgot about 20 Time project because I was so caught up with other school work. However, I still plan to go through with it because it is important that I complete the experience. Overall, I am proud to say that I participated in the 20 Time project because I will use the skills that I learned now in the future.

Applying 20 Time to Real life

The research I have conducted has many advantages to pursuing my passion. This not only helps me, but helps others as well. The information about getting recruited and skill requirements will allow others to train hard and become a professional soccer player. However, there is much competition in recruiting. They only look for the best and many people want to withhold precious information in order to be better than others. In conclusion, researched information can be valuable and will not be easily shared.

Over the last few weeks, I have done much 20 Time work. So far I have done much research and developed five paragraphs of information. Next, I am going to have to create a rough draft and think of a unique thesis statement to secure the topic of my informative paper. Some of my future goals are to follow through with my 20 Time plan which is to donate snacks to kids after soccer games. To achieve this I will talk to the President of Panthers Soccer to schedule the dates of games and I will have to work diligently on my paper to be successful.

Turning My Passion into a Career

My passion is soccer. But what kind of careers could I look into for my future? The first two things that came to mind were a professional soccer player or a professional soccer coach. There are many advantages and disadvantages to each career. For a professional soccer player, the salary is great. I will definitely be able to make a comfortable living with the money I earn. But, it takes a lot of commitment to player soccer professionally. First, you have to attend practice almost daily. It will take a lot of hard work. Also, you can't go around eating anything you want. To stay fit, eating healthy is a must. There are a lot of restrictions to what you can eat. Do I really want to live this life? What will I do after I retire? For a soccer coach, the salary is also good enough to live a life and support a family. In addition, I will not have the risk of getting injured while playing. The biggest question I have is do I really want to teach soccer or do I want to be on the field playing the sport I love? These are all things to consider when choosing a career based on my passion.

Blog Entry #5

The most valuable lesson I have learned through 20 Time so far is that you have to be flexible with your ideas and keep an open mind to new ones. This is such a valuable lesson because I had to keep changing my plan because all the other ideas would not work because of liability issues and lack of communication. This lesson is going to help me complete this project because I have adjusted what I am planning to do an enormous amount of times. In the end, it worked great because I was not going to let my mind be stubborn and I was very open to new ideas and "thought outside of the box". In the big picture of life, I will need to apply this lesson learned much more than I had expected. This experience I had made me a better thinker and made me more creative which will help me when I go to college and get a job. Overall, this 20 Time project was very exciting and I am pleased that we were able to do this.

20 Time pitch day reflection

During the pitch day for my 20 Time project, I was asked to give my presentation four times. I thought that is was easier to tell one person than in front of the whole class. So I wasn't really that nervous when the parents and faculty members arrived. I was relaxed when. I gave each presentation. I noticed that each time I talked I said something different than the time before. Basically my project didn't stay consistent. Overall, I thought that the pitch day was fun and went very well.

Happily Ever After

There are many things I have learned during this experience of 20 time. In the "real world", people are not always going to give you the time and patience you need. I learned this because I was rejected by the athletic director who said that I couldn't use the fields at the high school. This was hard for me because I thought that things would work perfectly. However, I was wrong. I had to problem solve and my project had a new purpose. I also had to talk to adults by myself which was very hard for me. These skills of problem solving and critical were enhanced greatly since the beginning and end of the 20 time project. It made me more mature and opened my mind into the world making me more comfortable with human interaction and creating events. My thinking was like it was never before. I felt as if I was the most creative and spontaneous I have ever been in my entire life! Overall, I was very pleased with the outcome of my experience and project.

Contacting An Authority on the Subject

When I contacted Rick Raver, I gave him the background information about the project I was doing. I
explained why I was doing this event and why the money will go to him. I was not sure about every single detail because I did not know where the event was going to be held because I did not have
permission yet. Also, I did not want to start asking for volunteer referee's because I was not sure if there were going to be enough people.

From this part of the assignment, I learned that I need to be more confident in talking to others. I was shy and inexperienced which led to a satisfactory email. This was, however, a good learning experience for me and will surely help me in the future. Next time, I will sound more confident in my email and will explain ideas more thoroughly.
